Sander Le Roy (born 1986) studied singing and choral conducting at the Lemmens Institute in Leuven, where he also obtained his master’s degree in piano.
Sander was active for many years in the Waelrant choir, as a singer, vocal coach, and conductor. With the Waelrant Children’s Choir, he achieved excellent results at prestigious choir competitions.
Since 2016, Sander can be found in Hoogstraten every Friday for the rehearsals of the Vialta Chamber Choir. With this chamber choir, he presents a varied program, ranging from Monteverdi to musicals. Since September 2025, he has been the proud conductor of the Leuven University Choir. Sander is currently being coached by Luc Anthonis (conducting) and Livia Cuypers (vocal technique).
As a singer with professional Belgian ensembles (Currende, Psallentes, Victoria Consort, Ex Tempore, etc.) and Belgian representative of the World Youth Choir (2010), he has had the privilege of working with some of the greatest and most inspiring conductors. Sander tries to combine their knowledge when he works with choirs himself.
As a teacher, Sander is affiliated with the Academie van Borgerhout as a piano teacher, coordinator, and beginner coach. He also provides choir coaching at Koor & Stem and workshops in France. From 2008 to 2018, he was a vocal coach with the musical theater company De Blockendoos.
